Description

One of my favorite sea birds to watch is the ‘iwa with its wide wingspan and distinguishable shape. It is not a “waterproof” bird because it does not land on water like other seabirds do. At sunset I like to sit on the cliffs along the north shore while getting lulled by the sound of the waves greeting the rocks. The ocean is a feast for the eyes with the varying colors it brings forth and the sight and sound of birds above is a bonus. It should be noted that the ‘iwa, great frigatebirds, construct their nests on land in shrubs or in piles of sticks that have been gathered together.
