‘Ilioholoikauaua (Hawaiian Monk Seal) are an endangered endemic animal in Hawaii. They are one of the only two endemic mammals on the island (the other being the hoary bat.) This painting was juried into the Hui No’eau’s Malama Wao Akua art show. If this animal totem shows up in your life it is a good time to ask yourself if you are in balance. Are you listening to people and things that you shouldn’t? Are you listening to your inner voice? Or, are you following the words of others rather than your own?
